Solar VPS Wind Project – Need Feedback

I began working with a good friend of mine ( Asit ) a few weeks ago on a wind project for my home. Asit and his father Raj run Metropolitan Building Consulting Group (Metro), an engineering firm specializing in sustainable retrofit, net-zero-energy building design and traditional mechanical, electrical and plumbing system design. Metro was currently running wind velocity tests in the area and found the average wind speed to be only 4 miles per hour. Unfortunately, this is not enough to warrant the cost of deploying a wind farm atop my house. We do get some pretty windy days here but unfortunately, 4mph just isn’t enough. (more…)
