London, United Kingdom
Euroconnex operates one of Europe's most extensive networks covering 6 countries, including data centres in Eastern Europe. The pan-European network operates at 1Gbit/second with future capacities for 10Gbits throughput, utilising prover carrier-class equipment from manufacturers including Cisco Systems and Extreme Networks. Euroconnex peers directly with most Tier-1 and Tier-2 providers, allowing direct access to European destinations with the shortest possible path. The Euroconnex network currently covers France, Germany, United Kingdom, Holland, Austria and Hungary with expansion to Czech Republic, Ireland and Spain following soon.
Network Hardware
All network operates in a redundant fashion, with dual power supplies, dual management cards and processors along with dual line cards for no single point of failure. The network includes leased diverse redundant capacity from the London Docklands hub to the BlueSquare data center, providing a total current capacity of some 20Gbits per seconds, one of the highest line rates in the industry.
Network Presence
The network PoP's (Points of Presence) are connected via a fiber optic metro ring based in the London docklands, with routing equipment located in each data center, thus never dependant upon one data center for connectivity, should power fail at any particular facility. The network takes connections from peers and providers at speeds no less than 1Gbit in capacity from two or more buildings, ensuring the network always has a spare redundant capacity available.
