Update regarding offering our new plans on SolarVPS.com and JVDS.com in the UK

Greetings, everyone!

I shared this with a few customers that were awaiting availabbility, however I wanted to post this publicly and expand on this a bit more.

We have re-opened discussions with our UK Hardware vendor and are now awaiting final pricing confirmation for hardware that will allow us to not only offer our new plans listed on www.solarvps.com but to also allow us to consolidate our existing infrastructure onto faster machines, which will allow us to begin laying out the groundwork for getting Virtuozzo backups going onto a separate hardware node. I'm hoping that we'll have final pricing in place very soon and the new hardware arriving by the first part of next week.

We're going to revamp our existing infrastructure first, so we can reduce our power consumption, so we can bring in new hardware to offer the plans that you see on www.solarvps.com and www.jvds.com. We're anticipating a re-launch of this no later than April 1st, if not sooner.

There's going to be a lot of work involved, since we're going to also be on-site, completely revamping our networking and power structure.

1)  We're working on decommissioning a couple older hardware nodes so that we can free up power consumption in order to bring 3 new machines online. (CURRENTLY UNDERWAY)

2)  We're going to be announcing an IP consolidation project to free up two IP Pools, so that we can plan out the next step (See Items 3-5 below).  I will be announcing this today via the Maintenance and Network Announcements forum.  NOW ANNOUNCED

3) We're going to announce further consolidations of the existing infrastructure, once we get these 3 new boxes.  This will free up more than half of our rack.

4) Once the consolidations are done (both hardware and IP), we will be on-site, restructuring the entire network and the rack itself, so that we can add backup servers and additional hardware nodes for future DDS and Virtuozzo Hostnodes.  We're anticipating this to be done right around April 1st.

5)  This will allow us to begin offering our current plans at ALL SolarVPS owned and operated facilities.

Step #3 above will allow us to have an entire class C free to accommodate the network changes required for Step #4, which we need in order to be able to offer the items in Step #5.

For those of you waiting on our new DDS machines to come online, I'm anticipating that we will be in a position to begin accepting new DDS UK orders by Monday.

I will keep everyone updated as we get more information. :D
