SSL Certificates explained: Positive or Instant - Which one is right for you?

Here are the Comodo SSL cert offerings we have.

1. Positive SSL - 1 year, 1 Server, 1 domain  $45.00 (low level e-commerce)
2. Postiive SSL Wildcard - 1 year, 1 Server, multi-domain $299.00 (low level e-commerce)
3. Instant SSL - 1 year, 1 Server, 1 domain, Trust Logo - $90.00 ( medium->large level e-commerce)
4. Instant Premium SSL Wildcard - 1 year, 1 Server, multi-domain, Trust Logo - $399.00 (medium->large e-commerce)

Positive SSL charges $49.95 (save $5 with us) for #1 and $429.95 (Save $129.95 with us) for #2, so you definitely have some savings with us on our pricing.

Instant SSL charges $99.95 for #3 (Save $10 with us) and $449.95 for #4 (Save $49.95 with us.  We use #4 for our own sites).

Positive SSL does NOT come with the TrustLogo you see in the lower right hand corner of www.solarvps.com.

Instant SSL DOES come with the TrustLogo you see in the lower right hand corner of www.solarvps.com.

For Options #1 and #3, it's important to note that http://www.abc.com is NOT the same as http://abc.com.  That would require two separate certificates.

Should you get the SSL cert with or without the "www"? - Good question.  It's a matter of personal preference.

A final note about SSL Certificates and Windows.  We can transfer SSL certificates from an old Windows system to a new one IF the Private key was set up to be exportable initially.  If we're the ones that set up the Windows SSL certificate for you, we'll work with you to make sure that your Private Key is exportable via IIS or the Certificates MMC.
