[Billing] Resource Upgrade Pricing

Hello,

Our current resource pricing is as follows:

Memory Upgrades

On SolarVPS DDS systems and VPS systems, as well as VPSColo systems, RAM is currently priced at $5.00 per month per 128MB of RAM

- The current RAM cap for a VPS server is 3072MB, which is 3GB.
- The current RAM cap for a DDS server is 8192MB, which is 8GB (as available, of course)

Disk Upgrades

On SolarVPS DDS systems and VPS systems, as well as VPSColo systems, RAM is currently priced at $0.50 per month per GB of disk, or $5.00 per month per 10GB.  Disk is orderable in multiples of 1GB. 

- The current Disk space cap for VPS' is 100GB
- The current Disk space cap for DDS' is 150GB

Please note that there are special considerations to be taken with DDS systems with disk upgrades due to the way that Xen handles disk allocation.  For this reason, please contact us for DDS disk upgrade requests.

Bandwidth

Solar VPS does not offer bandwidth packages at this time due to how these are handled in our automation system.  To avoid issues, we reduced our overage pricing to match that of our old bandwidth package pricing.   Our current overage rate is $0.25 per GB over your bandwidth limit.

Customers should be notified by the automation system via email if they are about to exceed their bandwidth, and can opt to shut down their VPS' to avoid overage charges.  Overage charges will be billed seperately from the subscription renewal.

How to Upgrade

For VPS servers, you can login to your billing area at https://control.solarvps.com/cp and, after selecting your subscription in the system tab, click 'upgrade center' to upgrade your resources, licenses, etc.  The system will display that plan's current limits and pricing and will automatically prorate to the length of your subscription period once your desired upgrades are selected.

Once placed, VPS Upgrades will be verified and then applied by our team to your system.  If there is a problem with an individual upgrade we will also advise at that time.

DDS server upgrades at this time must be placed and processed by us.  Please contact sales@solarvps.com

In some instances it is actually cheaper to consider upgrading your plan to the next higher plan configuration than to upgrade ala carte with the prices above, depending on your plan level and your active promotion.  If in doubt, please contact our sales team and we can check into that for you :)  While you are able to do so, It is not recommended to upgrade your plan configuration on your own as this can cause billing problems if not handled correctly, we recommend contacting us to make sure your upgrade is processed smoothly.
