Using a Cloud VPS to Learn New Programming Languages

Learn a new programming language with Solar VPS

Learning a new programming language is more than just learning a new syntax. It can mean learning new patterns and anti-patterns, which means changing the way you think about and approach problems. Different paradigms can inspire you to use your preferred language differently.

Solar VPS: The Solar System Windows and Linux Cloud VPS

Captain’s Log, Stardate 8.5.12:

Greetings and salutations from the communications deck of Solar VPS. After exploring wide ranging galaxies all across the Universe, we have managed to track down our Star Fleet Commander, Solar VPS COO Ross Brouse. After skirting through nebula’s and asteroid belts, our commander has something to say about a brand new Solar VPS product, The SolarSystem. In this conversation, Star Fleet Commander Brouse talks about the myriad of options users have with the Solar System:

  • Windows Cloud VPS
  • Linux Cloud VPS
  • OS Selection: Windows 2008, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu etc.
  • Truly customizable VPS by choosing the amount of RAM, disk storage, bandwidth and CPU’s users want.
  • Both Windows and Linux Cloud VPS have a variety of add-ons: SolarRay Monitoring: Softaculous, Plesk Control Panel, cPanel, dotDefender & GlogalSign SSL Certificates

Beyond these choices Star Commander Brouse hints at what users can expect from the SolarSystem in the future – images for popular scripts like Drupal, Joomla and WordPress.

So, sit back, relax and listen to the wonders of the Solar VPS SolarSystem.

SolarRay Monitoring

Captain’s Log, Stardate 8.4.12:

Greetings and salutations from the communications deck of SolarVPS. Captain Jean-Luc Picard has taken off to some far reaching galaxy beyond the stars and has left the members of the SolarVPS Communications Deck in charge of all future Captain’s Log entries. Who knows when his shiny bald head will be back. With his departure, we have been sorting through log entries he has been meaning to write. This has led us to a curiously interesting entry titled “SolarRay Monitoring.”

We had to ask around but when we finally tracked down Captain Riker he filled us in on what SolarRay Monitoring is.

SolarRay Monitoring is an exclusive SolarVPS technology crafted in secret with years of acquired knowledge and gathered experience. SolarRay Monitoring is SolarVPS’s answer to unexpected and protracted VPS downtime. It is our Solar System’s never setting sun guaranteeing you 24/7/365 monitoring from six locations all across the globe (two in Clifton, NJ, one in Miami, London, Los Angeles and Dallas).

SolarRay was developed to be highly scalable, allowing us to perform millions of scans with no service degradation. Our exclusive monitoring technology was built from the ground up by SolarVPS engineers to be fully integrated with the Solar System, enabling faster and more efficient support for our clients.

#ASE12 Mid Day Update

Day 2 of #ase12 is a day of fun. With the official opening of the show floor, brands from all over the world are starting to show their personalities. Some brands are giving away cool freebies, like Mini-Helicopters, and some brands are playing Ping Pong with summit goers. Moreover some brands are showing off their life size icons such as a Life Lock robot and Clickbooth Click-man. Side note: We are sure the Clickbooth mascot has an official name however we don’t know what it is. Mr. Booth? Mr. Click? On a more serious note, yesterday Jeff Grill, VP of Marketing at Mimeo, stopped by the booth to chat with FortressITX COO Ross Brouse. The two had an in-depth conversation about various facets of FortressITX – our 80/20 support system, our unique call center service which essentially makes our IT team your IT team and the services we offer – Connectivity, Hosted PBX, Hosted Exchange, Office-as-a-Service and SEO back end building. In short, the conversation went very well. As the day continues, watch this space to follow the live action of #ase12. Also, if you are at the conference, feel free to stop by booth #1300 to talk to the FortressITX team to find out what we can do to optimize your IT needs.

HostingCon Interview with Solar VPS COO Ross Brouse

At HostingCon 2012 in Boston, Hosting-Review.com’s Dave Price took some time to interview Solar VPS COO Ross Brouse. In the interview Ross speaks about the services we provide to our customer base, how we address customer concerns and needs and how virtualized infrastructures benefit  customers in terms of savings (physical space and CAPEX). Moreover the interview covers the benefits of owning our own datacenter and why customers should look at more than just the “pricing game” when choosing a VPS provider.
